I’m not reviewing this for the iMac itself, because I can verify that the iMac has been a solid product since its introduction. What I am reviewing is the price gouging for the SSD option. The 8GB/1TB HDD option is around $800, but the 8GB/512GB SSD is almost $1800? No, I’m sorry, parts and labor of installing a new drive into an iMac do not total up to $1000. And trust me, a 1TB HDD is going to be your speed bottleneck for a system like this. My recommendation is to buy the $800 HDD model, and, if you can’t replace the drive yourself (even though Apple has made it extremely easy), I guarantee you can find a local IT Pro who will do it for you for MUCH less.

This was my first “renewed” purchase. I’ve been wanting an iMac for years, but the price was too far out of my range. My bottom of the line 2020HP PC was driving me nuts with how slow it is, so I started looking up the macs. I know with all of my Amazon purchases, I can trust the return process if something isn’t as it should be, so I figured why not take the chance on a renewed max?! The price was the same as the Wally World pc, so I went for it. It shipped FAST, packing was very secure. The unit looks like it is in new condition! The keyboard and mouse are off brand, but they work! Setup was a breeze and this thing runs much faster than my old HP. Highly recommend!
